We have just experienced a most amazing weekend at the Cae Wennol Yurts. We have two children Matthew (12yrs) and Katie (9yrs) and they both thoroughly enjoyed the long weekend. There is a wealth of things to do both in the immediate vicinity of the Yurt and the local area (Conwy, Llandudno, Betws-y-coed). The Yurts are absolutely fabulous, so beautiful and so much more than a tent. Despite their beauty we all spent most of our time in the fabulous rustic kitchen. We cooked on the wood burning stove and the barbecue and very occasionally the gas hob. We lit the tealights and played cards and dominoes and "Spite", (a game providied by Avril which was great to play and listen to the ensuing arguments), until we couldn't see any more. There was lots of frog and grasshopper catching, buzzard watching, mushroom hunting etc etc. Avril and Dylan (oh and Archie) were the lovliest of hosts giving loads of advice about activities. Everything needed was there. Will certainly return soon.

We stayed at the smaller yurt for a romantic weekend this July. We had an absolutely lovely time - it is beautiful bit of the country, a nice yurt, lots of space, relaxed hosts. We're very much hoping to be able to come back again next year, perhaps bringing our children.

We had an absolutely perfect few days in the Seren yurt last week. Blissfully peaceful and relaxing - the yurts are comfortable, clean and full of character. The kitchen area is really well-equipped and the perfect place to relax in the evenings or to have a leisurely breakfast in the morning. Avril was always available if we needed anything and kept us topped up on coal for the fab BBQ and ice packs for keeping our food cold. So nice to go on a holiday and know that you're being 'eco' for once as well - so much so that it was a bit of a shock going back to a life full of electricity when we got back home, but we just about coped!
Perfect place for a romantic break or to take a family - there are so many beautiful places to visit just 10 minutes drive or a bit of a walk from the yurts. Would go back there tomorrow if we could as miss spending the evenings in candlelight and mornings in the fresh country air!
Thanks so much Avril and Dyan, hope to see you again soon!

We had an excellent time at Cae Wennol over the weekend, staying in Seren (in our family folklore it will be remembered as "The Blue Yurt", which is what Theo (3) named it) and genuinely "getting away from it all" - and no rain until the moment we packed up!
Ditto everything mentioned elsewhere about the gorgeous furnishings in the yurt, the superbly equipped kitchen, the instant hot water in the shower. Theo and Miriam (4) loved exploring the paths around the ponds, or just playing at being chefs, and getting snug and cosy for bedtime stories with candles. We figured they might wake up early with the yurt's skylight, but we all slept in until nearly 8am (unheard of for us!)
Kate and I sat outside after the children had gone to bed, watching the bats and listening to the peacocks. I made the mistake of putting a couple of logs on the masonry barbecue (daft city type that I am) but Avril was very understanding. She was really friendly and helpful throughout the stay - dropping round with ice blocks and matches, or helping our two get acquainted with her dog Archie.
A brilliant first time glamping experience.

Spent two fantastic days in the Seren yurt in June 2010. Canât praise it highly enough - it was our first experience of glamping but it wonât be our last. The yurt is lovely, romantic and comfortable and the furnished perfectly. The shared kitchen and dining area is well stocked with plates and cutlery. There is a hob, stove and itâs nice and clean, under cover and really handy to make hot meals or have a BBQ. There is plenty of room to eat there or you can use the table outside the yurt.
The showers could not be faulted, hot and easy to use and the shower hut was spotless and the eco toilets work really well.
This was a romantic break for us but we also wanted to check out Cae Wennol to see if it would be a nice place to take our girls who are 5 and 8 and I think that next time we visit weâll bring them and book the larger yurt.
The yurt is perfect for relaxing, my hubby took photos while I chilled in the field with a book. We headed off to Betsy y coed, which was busy but nice for cafes and riverside walks.
Thanks for making it a memorable visit - we're missing it already!

If you want to go camping, but in absolute luxury, Cae Wennol Yurts is the ideal place to go, it really does define the term âGlampingâ.
The area is beautiful and the yurts are catered for all. They really go that extra mile to ensure you have a perfect stay.
The facilities are top of the range and I cannot think of one negative point about the place. Thanks for a perfect weekend, weâll be back soon!

30/08/2010 A massive thank you to Avril and Dylan for a wonderful weekend. They are great hosts and looked after us really well. Cae Wennol is so peaceful and relaxing, great to forget the stresses and strains of everyday life. Once the woodburner is lit and the night draws in the yurts are quite simply magical. The showers are great with loads of hot water. We will be back and wished we could have stayed longer. diolch yn fawr Mike, Elaine, Laura and Jack.
